Fung is on a mission to build the next-generation Payment Service Provider (PSP 3.0) that provides infrastructure for high growth merchants to power their online businesses with seamless payment services. Our team has decades of experience in engineering, commercial, and compliance from the traditional payments world.

At Fung, we leverage our deep understanding of payments and modern cloud computing paradigms to build a regulated platform that supports web2 and web3 payments in a seamless way. Our goal is to provide a payments solution that helps high growth merchants achieve their full potential by simplifying their payment processes and enabling them to scale quickly.

How will you make an impact

As an Engineer at Fung, you will be responsible for building the core products of the Payments Platform. You will learn deeply about the payments domain, and be able to take part in creating end-to-end solutions. Your attention to detail and quality will directly impact to the product we build. You will help us extend a modern Typescript codebase running Nestjs on the back and Nextjs on the frontend, served as AWS architecture and implementing Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architecture. You accept no compromise in creating kick-ass sexy AF products and push the bar high for everyone. Being part of the core team will give you an opportunity to bring your expertise, teach and help adopting improvements to daily process, tech culture and success of the whole team. As part of the Engineering team, every member has a core role in designing new software solutions, and proposing the most adequate approach to the challenges we are solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop core payment products of Fung's Payment Platform.
• Drive development of our AWS Infrastructure related to the front-end application
• Own engineering projects from design to implementation.
• Participate in designing and reviewing technical solutions with the team.
• Be able to support your needs with developing performant APIs.
• Solve challenges around performance, code extendability and future-proofing the codebase.
• Be on the cutting edge of innovation, avid learner, always exploring ways to improve your work.

Experience and skills

Frontend

• You master modern React
• You have an eye for good-looking products, and appreciate the values of UX
• You have a deep appreciation of good software design and its values
• You are familiar with unit and end-to-end testing frameworks

Backend

• You have experience working with Typescript and Node APIs
• You know your way around SQL and NoSQL databases
• You have experience working with Online Payments

Soft skills and personal attitudes

• You know how to work independently with ownership, while you value the needs of the team
• You know how to work with the Agile Framework
• You are proud of your work and are passionate about the problems you are solving

We are a group of payment nerds, tech geeks, and most importantly believers, that the world of payments is due to change, and we are in a prime position to drive this change. With powerful technology and knowledge at our hands. We come from all corners of the world, and all walks of life and we try to bring the best out of every one of us every day.

We a currently 13 people, and looking to extend our two scrum teams with new members, to help us get to the next stage. Our teams are designed with ownership and responsibility in mind, but are also empowered with everything needed for their best work to be done.

Core-developer at a Bitcoin Exchange (CleverCoin) in 2015; Core-developer at Full-Stack Payments Platform (Dimebox), acquired by Verifone; Architect for Global E-commerce @ Verifone; Serial startup die-hard, runs Bulgarian blood.

Chief Legal & Compliance — Andrei Valeanu
Multiple financial companies (Nationale Nederlanden, Banking Blocks, Ingenico). Built the compliance program at Uber and lead development of a proprietary in-house AML model to enable mass-scale onboarding of customers. The internal police. Descendant of Transylvania.

Flexibility is at the core of our working culture and remote working is not just accepted but encouraged. We do however love to take advantage of our awesome office in And Noord and we expect all employees to be in the office as/when necessary (C2 days a week) for social events and brainstorming.
